Above shows the willow commencing using buff uprights and green willow. This is going to be under the thatch and will be seen from inside the upstairs restaurant. The thatcher is booked in to start in 7 days time so Sue is giving a helping hand to get weaving done in time for the thatcher.

Below Simply green oak barge boards are fixed to gable end using traditional handmade rose headed nails, backed with code 5 lead.

The Cellar roof being completely replaced re-using original hand made tiles

Below is the firewall being fitted over the willow and under the thatch to ensure minimum risk against thatch catching fire and destroying the pub

Below are 2 views of the ceiling upstairs. This shows the inside effect after willow weaving is finished, showing existing purlins and new oak rafters with bark and sap left on them.

Below: Thatcher starts work on 20/3/07 and the thatching is expected to take 5 - 6 weeks.
